Euthanasia Training

Euthanasia training is now required by law.  The training section is in two parts:

1.  Euthanasia Training
This is a review of the new (2008) Report of the AVMA Panel on Euthanasia.  This section discusses the principles of euthanasia and the different methods/agents that can be used.

2. Species Specific Euthanasia Training
This section allows you to select a species that you plan to use.  It offers approved methods and agents with dosages.  It serves to acquaint you with the different approved methods and to offer a place to select a method when writing your protocol. Select all species you plan to use.

3. Complete a short quiz.

4. Do the Euthanasia Training first.  Then do the Species Specific for the species you plan to use as stated in your protocol.  After all the training on the web is complete, including General and if applicable, Surgery, call our office for a short discussion. 561-297-4233

 5. At the discussion, please bring your protocol.  At the end of the discussion, we will schedule a time to complete the euthanasia training.  In most cases, this will require you to actually do an euthanasia.  This part may have to be scheduled at a time you are actually doing one for your research.
